About BROKIS

A synthesis of exquisite design, superior quality, and the skill of master artisans continuing the centuries-old Bohemian glassmaking tradition.

A word from Mr. Rabell

When I acquired the glassworks in 1997, with which I was later able to start BROKIS, many things changed, but my outlook on the environment and consideration for the land remained as steadfast as ever. These values require constant work and must be projected onto the living processes of the company.

LCA & EPD Certification

BROKIS products have completed certification of their products based on the Life Cycle Assessment and Environmental Product Declaration. This process verifies a commitment to purpose, putting environmental and social impact at the heart of the brand.

Production chain: a new culture of light

Approximately 80% of the company’s suppliers are located within a 120km radius, and all BROKIS products are assembled in Janštejn, Czech Republic. This allows a remarkably short production chain, whose sustainable management relies on lasting relationships built on mutual trust and respect between the company and its suppliers.

Energy

An integral part of our sustainability approach is energy management. We have launched a project to source part of our energy from renewable resources. One of the first steps is the installation of solar panels, which are projected to cover 15% of our total energy consumption.

Waste management

Glass waste is recycled. A key role in this process is played by the material BROKISGLASS, which is produced using
environmentally friendly manufacturing methods. Transforming waste shards into a new decorative product represents an ecofriendly and efficient recycling approach, enabling the glassworks to implement a strategic circular
economy.

Sustainable design

The result has been the development of multiple sustainable product lines within BROKIS, featuring designer lighting that incorporates wooden components, as well as materials such as BROKISGLASS and BROKIS CONCRETE, both produced using glass shards. The unique BROKIS CONCRETE fixture contains up to 80% of recycled glass shards.

Longevity and durability

Substantial focus is concentrated on the efficient replacement of damaged components. The longevity of our products is ensured thanks to a special connector developed by BROKIS. The connector allows a considerable degree of variability in combining and replacing lights. Professional maintenance services, including component replacements, are provided by the company.

Design awards

BROKIS has earned prestigious honors from leading design authorities including Archiproducts Design Awards, Elle Decoration International Design Awards, and Good Design Awards. These accolades validate our dedication to transforming traditional craft into contemporary masterpieces, establishing  a benchmark for innovation in glass lighting.
