BEACON – a monumental light installation in the heart of London.
With production and support from BROKIS and MATERIALS ASSEMBLE, and additional support from Southbank Centre, this installation by world‑renowned British designer Lee Broom is being presented at the London Design Festival from 13 to 21 September 2025 on London’s South Bank.
Comprising 292 segments of BROKISGLASS – a distinctive material crafted from recycled glass shards – Beacon takes its cue from the bold, uncompromising lines of the brutalist Hayward Gallery, beside which the work will stand on the South Bank.

The project’s creator is Lee Broom, one of the most distinctive British product designers. His work is a blend of originality, luxury, and flawlessly executed craftsmanship. The furniture and lighting collections bearing his name have won admiration from experts and customers around the world.
Broom collaborates with some of the most prestigious brands – Christian Louboutin, Mulberry, Bergdorf Goodman, Rémy Martin, and Wedgwood – and his designs appear on magazine covers worldwide. They are unique yet familiar, drawing on classical styles that he reinterprets in unexpected ways.
