The story

Inspired by nature’s most delicate moments, its organic shapes evoke the serene movement of autumn leaves or flower petals drifting through the air. The remarkable qualities of the material ensure that no two segments are alike, making each one a unique work of art. The diverse forms, sizes, and arrangements of the glass shard offer endless creative possibilities.

The glass installation consists of segments in different sizes. Thanks to the distinctive nature of BROKISGLASS and special melting and fusing techniques, each segment is an unmistakable original.
The glass segments are suspended via discreet openings that allow for a variety of angles depending on the overall design concept. They are either smooth or feature a textured finish, and bespoke shapes and sizes can be created upon request.

The remarkable qualities of the material ensure that no two segments are alike, making each one a unique work of art. There is a range of colour combinations, degrees of transparency, and diverse thicknesses and shapes of glass segments. The result is grand, one of-a-kind installations. There are eight predefined compositions available, each showcasing different shapes and segment structures. They can be further customized to suit the specific requirements of any project. Implementation of technical solutions, assembly, and lighting of the installation can be also provided.

Technical information

The Bloom concept consists of levitating segments with shapes evoking autumn leaves or flower petals.

There are four Bloom sizes/shapes, each featuring three systematically arranged suspension openings (the smallest has only one). These allow for up to six different hanging positions.

The dimensions of individual segments are given in the pictogram, but these values should be taken as approximate only. Each piece is an original — unique in texture, surface, thickness, and overall dimensions. Due to the nature of the material and the production process, it is not possible to create identical copies. For the same reason, any deviation from the values indicated in the pictogram is considered part of the collection’s character and is not grounds for a product defect claim.

BLOOM segments are made from flat material approximately 6 mm thick. The final piece may show slight variations in thickness depending on how the glass settles during production.

The average weight of a single segment is approximately:

  • XS – 50g
  • S – 70g
  • M – 100g
  • L – 190g

The texture is always unique and depends on many factors, such as the fraction of glass shards, their orientation, distribution, and the chosen decor. It is a one-of-a-kind material, with each piece a genuine original.

Available either without decor (smooth surface) or with a striped decor created by the double-sided imprint of the mould surface during the slumping/polishing process. The variant with decor stands out more distinctly on crystal glass than in combinations with Triplex Opal (white).

Bloom is available either in a glossy version (front side) with a natural finish on the back, or with a matte coating on both sides.

The sides/edges of Bloom are finished by polishing. This gentle edge polishing creates a slight rounding and a smooth, glossy side surface. As a result, the edge is not matte but shiny. The polishing takes place simultaneously with the slumping process.

The back side of Bloom segments subtly mirrors the surface of the mould onto which the glass settles during production.

Bloom offers a wide range of applications. Its specific glass properties should always be considered. In addition to conventional uses, it can also be applied to glass surfaces or combined with backlighting, which is currently in development.

  • Minimal absorptivity.
  • High resistance to water and aggressive chemicals.
  • Easy maintenance and high resistance to wear.
  • High resistance to odour absorption.
  • Unmistakable colouration and texture.
  • 100% safe and environmentally friendly.
  • Waste from the panels is fully recycled by the manufacturer.

Variations

Small air bubbles may appear on the glass surface during production. They are a natural feature, not a defect, and have no impact on the quality of the product. Each piece undergoes multi-stage quality control, and minor irregularities are part of its handmade character. In the case of enclosed surfaces, bubbles larger than approximately 1.5–2 mm are not considered grounds for a defect claim.

Fine surface cracks can occur at the points where glass shards merge. They do not extend into the material and have no effect on its stated properties. Such features are not considered grounds for a product defect claim.

The holes are made at a 90° angle relative to the surface of the material; however, the final angle may change slightly after the slumping/polishing process. Only tested pieces are delivered to the customer, ensuring that any such variation does not affect safe suspension.

Small pigment spots up to 1 mm in size may appear sporadically, though most pieces are entirely free of them. The spots are mineral particles that become visible only at the end of the production process. Triplex Opal (white) is more prone to their occurrence. Pieces with pigment spots covering more than 5% of the surface area are rejected during quality control.

A slight notch at the point of waterjet entry is standard and cannot be fully avoided in production for technological reasons. Subsequent processing steps minimise this irregularity.

Due to the production technology, a faint ring may occasionally appear around the suspension holes of a segment. This is not considered a defect.
