That singular moment when ceremonial light guides the path – when traditional lanterns illuminate sacred journeys – inspires Brokis Bonbori. Designed by Japanese designer Fumie Shibata, this award-winning collection pays tribute to the traditional paper lamps that line paths to shrines and temples during annual paddy harvest festivals in Japan. The word “bonbori” evokes both these ceremonial lights and the soft glow emanating from within a snowy cave.
The essence of Brokis Bonbori lies in extraordinary Czech glassmaking craftsmanship. Each shade comprises multiple layers of carefully molded hand-blown glass that create gentle luminescence when illuminated. A simple stainless steel base features environmentally friendly powder coating with laser-cut openings that cast intricate patterns of light through a diffuser. The easily removable LED light source enhances practical versatility.
A distinctive feature enables seamless indoor-outdoor living: special connectors allow the indoor table lights to be unplugged and moved to covered exterior spaces, creating magical festive ambience that transitions effortlessly between interior and exterior settings. Available in transparent, smoke grey, smoke brown, opaline, triplex opal, and olive green Czech glass paired with matte black, copper metallic, or grey metallic finishes. The range includes Small and Large table configurations, Wall Up and Wall Down versions, plus weather-resistant Outdoor Small and Large floor options for residential and hospitality environments.
