The history of BROKIS is rooted in over 200 years of Bohemian glassmaking. It begins with the founding of Janštejn Glassworks in 1809, which Czech entrepreneur Jan Rabell acquired in 1997 to preserve the region’s glassmaking heritage. BROKIS was officially founded in 2006 as a premium lighting brand built on that tradition.

A milestone came in 2010 with the launch of the Muffins collection, followed by Lucie Koldova’s appointment as art director in 2013. From exporting to 60 countries in 2016, BROKIS now operates in over 110 countries and continues to grow as a globally recognised name in handblown glass lighting.
