That singular moment when light meets architecture, when hand-blown glass becomes integrated with vertical surfaces—this is where Brokis wall lights exist. Born from Bohemian glassmaking heritage, each Brokis wall light transforms functional illumination into sculptural expression that shapes spatial ambiance through the deliberate interplay of material, shadow, and architectural presence.
Every Brokis wall light emerges from master glassblowers who craft glass using techniques refined over centuries. The wall-mounted forms breathe character into surfaces, assuming shapes that blend organic glass fluidity with precise geometric mounting systems. Threaded rods anchor delicate globes to walls, creating fixed points of illumination that cast atmospheric patterns across adjacent surfaces and define interior volumes.
Brokis wall lighting collections collaborate with internationally acclaimed designers who understand that wall-mounted fixtures sculpt space differently than overhead pendants. From ambient bedroom lighting to dramatic corridor statements, Brokis wall lights balance striking contrasts: the fragility of blown glass against industrial metal brackets, the warmth of traditional Czech craft against clean contemporary profiles. These are wall lights that transcend utility, transforming corridors, living spaces, and hospitality interiors through layered illumination.
Brokis means a commitment to exceptional design, master craftsmanship, and the preservation of centuries-old Bohemian glassmaking. Founded in 2006 by Czech entrepreneur Jan Rabell, the brand was built to elevate handblown glass into contemporary lighting design.
Rooted in the historic Janštejn Glassworks – established in the early 19th century southeast of Prague – BROKIS combines handblown glass with refined materials such as wood and metal, creating bold, design-led lighting collections. Today, Brokis is a globally recognised premium lighting brand with sales operations in 120 countries and a reputation for innovation and artisan quality.
The history of Brokis is rooted in over 200 years of Bohemian glassmaking. It begins with the founding of Janštejn Glassworks in 1809, which Czech entrepreneur Jan Rabell acquired in 1997 to preserve the region’s glassmaking heritage. BROKIS was officially founded in 2006 as a premium lighting brand built on that tradition.
A milestone came in 2010 with the launch of the Muffins collection, followed by Lucie Koldova’s appointment as art director in 2013. From exporting to 60 countries in 2016, Brokis now operates in over 110 countries and continues to grow as a globally recognised name in handblown glass lighting.
Brokis wall lights is designed by a curated collective of acclaimed international designers, led by art director Lucie Koldova. A celebrated Czech product and furniture designer, Lucie has shaped the BROKIS portfolio since 2010, creating iconic collections including Muffins and Balloons.
Since 2024, Simona Sbordone has served as art director of BROKISGLASS, bringing her distinctive vision to the Senza Fine collection. The wider design roster includes Dan Yeffet, Boris Klimek, Chiaramonte Marin, Fumie Shibata, Federico Peri, and more – each bringing a unique perspective to the craft of handblown glass lighting.
Brokis lights are manufactured in the Czech Republic, at the historic Janštejn Glassworks located in Horní Dubenky, approximately 140 kilometres southeast of Prague. Founded in 1809, the glassworks has over 200 years of Bohemian glassmaking tradition and has been owned by the Rabell family since 1997.
Brokis operates its own production facility on site, where every light is handblown by master artisans using time-honoured techniques refined over generations. This direct ownership of the entire production process ensures the exceptional quality and craftsmanship that defines every Brokis collection.
Brokis’s lead-time is 10 weeks, from ordering to leaving the factory. Each piece of handblown glass lighting passes through the hands of more than 30 highly skilled craftsmen, whose expertise and dedication ensure the highest standards of quality and authenticity.
Slight differences in colouration are inherent to the production of handblown glass, yet they must remain within tolerance.
Cleaning Brokis glass correctly helps preserve the beauty and quality of your light.
First, disassemble the fitting following the installation manual and secure the glass against damage.
Rinse the glass in hot water with a dilution of dish detergent to remove dust and particles, repeating if necessary.
Then clean again using hot water with a dilution of degreaser such as ammonia or vinegar, and rinse thoroughly under running hot water.
Dry with a soft paper or cotton towel and allow the glass to cool completely before reassembling.
Avoid mineral spirits, concentrated thinners, or any silicone-based products, as these can damage the glass surface and attract further dust.
Delivery is £99 ex.VAT from the Czech Republic to the UK, and free delivery on a total goods value of £2,350 ex.VAT. International deliveries will need to be quoted before ordering – with customs duties handled by BROKIS.
As each Brokis luminaire is custom made-to-order, we are unable to accept returns. However, we provide a 5-day grace period from the date of purchase to amend or cancel your order before it enters production.
If you have any questions then it is recommended to contact us before you place an order.
Brokis lighting is covered by a warranty against material, construction, and manufacturing defects, including functional failure of LED components. To maintain coverage, lights must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the installation instructions and used as intended.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, mechanical damage, or damage caused by negligence. If a valid claim is approved, Brokis will repair, replace, or refund the product. Thanks to Brokis’s commitment to sustainable, precision manufacturing – independently verified through EPD and LCA certification – the warranty claims rate is just 0.9%, reflecting the exceptional quality built into every light.
